The Redbull Rampage is the longest running big mountain freeride event in mountain biking’s brief history. For those unfamiliar with the event, it involves athletes from across the globe converging in Virgin, Utah in the USA to sculpt and ride a line down a mountainside that is difficult to climb down, let alone ride a bicycle down. But the participants aren’t just riding down: they are scored on speed, difficulty of line, tricks, and overall impression. Years past have seen rider’s backflip 15+ meter canyon gaps or 360 off of 12-meter cliffs as well as any number of other seemingly impossible acrobatics involving the unforgiving terrain of the desert.
All in all, it was a successful Rampage for SR SUNTOUR’s athletes: a win in the historic first women’s Rampage, and a solid showing by both the veterans and the rookies. They’re already hungry for another session in Southern Utah!
