Round three of the DH Worldcup circuit took us to the infamous Leogang track, of which there has been much debate over recent years. In 2018, the predominantly bike-park style track saw the addition of more natural sections in order to keep the race exciting. And it worked! The Leogang track showed all ist best sides and gave us perfect race racing, even the forcasted rain stayed away. As a result we were treated to super fast, mega close racing. A fast dusty track is just the way Tracey Hannah likes it. To be amongst the world’s best you need to perform at the highest level consistantly. And here in Leogang, Tracey’s consistancy took her to the top step of the podium and into the overall lead in the series. This season is only three rounds old and it’s already riveting. Such tight racing also means that clusters of riders are separated by the tiniest of margins. Mick Hannah placed 30th one second (1sec) behind 20th. Such is the flip-side to elite DH racing.
